Quality inside and out
spacerThe quality of the filling inside your quilt or pillow is important both for your comfort and for the durability of the product itself. However, we have also thought about the outside …

Shell (cover)
Most quilt shells produced today are produced in 100% pure cotton. Cotton is available in different qualities. A long staple (good quality) cotton produces a stronger and more flexible fabric than a short staple (average quality) cotton, where the resulting fabric is less resilient and has an uneven surface.
Many quilts/pillows are labelled 100% cotton and also labelled cambric, super cambric or batiste. All these words describe the thickness of the cotton thread before weaving.

channelled quiltQuilt construction
Today quilts are produced in several different constructions, the most common of which is the box construction.
Some quilts are channelled, a construction that used to be very popular.
kanaler When the two layers of the shell are sewn together around the filling, the quilt may be sewn with or without channel walls. The difference is that there are thermal bridges along the stitching lines where there is no filling, and therefore no insulation. This explains why winter and year-round quilts are sewn with channel walls, while summer quilts, which are not intended to feel too warm, are sewn without them.
There are some new constructions on the market that are designed to help the quilt fold more closely around the body. We call these constructions ”perfect body-quilts”.
