7. Spin the quilt/pillow after washing. Choose the gentlest spin cycle
1. When you awake in the morning, some moisture remains in your quilt/pillow. Air the quilt/pillow well before covering with a bedcover8. The quilt/pillow must be dried in a tumble dryer at a temperature of around 60-80° C. It is a good idea to put a couple of tennis balls in the dryer with the quilt/pillow. The balls will keep the filling moving and ensure more efficient drying 9.The quilt/pillow takes at least 3-5 hours to dry, depending on your tumble dryer. Note: it is important that your quilt/pillow is completely dry – including the fine down inside. If not, they will “snap”. EXTRA ADVICE: Try weighing your quilt/pillow before washing and then after washing and drying. The quilt should weigh the same or less. If the quilt/pillow weighs more, then it is not completely dry. It must be dried completely. If not, you risk damage to the down/feather filling 2. Give the quilt/pillow regular airings, but don’t vacuum or beat it 3. Wash the quilt (or two pillows) on its own in a washing machine with a capacity of at least 5 and preferably 7 kg 4. If you need to spot clean your quilt/pillow, use a well-wrung sponge 5. Use a proprietary down detergent, e.g. Quilts of Denmark’s specially developed "DUNVASKEMIDDEL”, produced in association with Astma-Allergiforbundet (the Danish Asthma & Allergy Association). Always use detergent without enzymes. ![]() Quilts of Denmark · Pantonevej 1 · 6580 Vamdrup · Tel. +45 7692 0100 · Fax: +45 7692 0102 · mail@QOD.dk – the maker of
